I’m looking towards the next stage of my career and, having proven my worth as a senior tester in a variety of contexts {functional, non-functional, agile, waterfall, hands-on, hands-off} I’m hoping for a new challenge – Test Management.

I have some great qualities I can bring to the table in any organisation – these are just a few of them:

  • Knowledge – I have continually sought to learn and apply new concepts and skills throughout my career thus far, often re-enforcing those skills by sharing them with others via meetings, one-to-one coaching, blogging, workshops and meetups. I’ve also had the opportunity to work alongside and be coached by some of the best and brightest thought-leaders in the field of testing today.
  • Community Engagement –I’m the organiser and host of the Birmingham Tester Meetup, co-organiser of the 2012 Test-Bash, co-organiser and host of the 2013 Test Bash as well as being involved in various tester-training activities.
  • Credibility – As well as being very actively involved in the testing community, I’m the editor of the highly regarded The Testing Planet industry paper.
  • Leadership – I can build, motivate and coordinate teams that achieve objectives on time, every time.
  • Coaching – I can work with individuals to help them overcome obstacles, learn and apply new skills and to move forward with their careers.

Ideally I’m looking for the opportunity to build and develop the QA function in an organisation from the ground up, however I’m open to filling an existing Test Manager role as well. I’d also consider consulting as a potential career path. Alternatively if you have a role that doesn’t quite fit into the above, but that you think would be a good fit in any event, please feel free to contact me.
